MWF Looking for Fantasy Baseball Enthusiasts
Sunday, March 11, 2007

I have loved baseball ever since my brothers were in little league. I was the loudest cheerer in the crowd, and I had nicknames for all the boys on their teams. When I was 17, B invited me to join Sandbox, which at the time (8 years ago) was a free fantasy baseball league. I managed to trade Randy Johnson (during his peak a couple seasons before he and Curt Schilling won the World Series in 2001) away for Tim Wakefield (he's got sentimental appeal to me), but I have never quite forgiven him for the trade (the extra fluff B threw into the trade--a player I can't even remember--broke himself two weeks later for the rest of the season).

I've only played fantasy baseball once since that season (the next year, Sandbox started charging) and I did decently (didn't win, didn't lose). But I've always had the hankering to play again, except I'm cheap and don't like to pay to play fantasy baseball. B pays to play fantasy baseball, but I'm not nearly as serious as he is and it'd be $10/month for the both of us to play instead of just $5, and I wouldn't nearly get as much out of my Sandbox account as he does (he's playing 3 leagues in Sandbox).

ESPN has free leagues up this year, though, and I'm going to play. Anyone want to join me? If you do, then I'll start my own league or I'll find one with open slots we can play. If not, I'll just play with strangers.

Hi. I really like your blog. Was wondering if you want to add it to my directory? Thanks Shelly
